Steering Team

  • Scott Rude, Founder and President

Scott retired in 2019 after a career in leadership roles building organizational capability in Fortune 500 companies, and educating future leaders as a university adjunct professor. Philanthropic efforts have included building Habitat for Humanity homes, Menttium mentorship to young professional women, serving on the board of Inside Out Reentry, and of course, enthusiastic membership in the Hawkeye Chapter of 100 Men Who Care. Upon relocating to the Destin area in 2020, Scott picked up on the need for a new chapter in the 100 Who Care Alliance, founding 100MWCEC in 2021. In addition to his volunteer roles and spending quality time with his wife, Jean, Scott enjoys tennis, pickleball, basketball, investing and history.

  • Ed LaGrou, Vice President

After serving nearly 33-years in the US Air Force, Ed retired in 2019 as a Colonel in the Medical Service Corps. Having held multiple senior leadership positions encompassing the provision of health services across the globe, Ed saw first-hand the power of volunteerism and philanthropy. During his career he was privileged to be part of the Big Brothers, American Red Cross, a local homeless shelter, and a children's crisis nursery to name a few. They were impactful, and all relied on the community and wonderful organizations like 100 Men Who Care to continue their great work. Suffice it to say they drove Ed's next calling. He and his wife Mary relocated back to Blue Water Bay upon retirement from the military, where he can spend his time exclusively on what matters most—family and community.

  • Andrew McDowell, Co-Founder and Treasurer

As Managing Director and Senior Wealth Advisor at Mariner Wealth Advisors, Andrew specializes in wealth planning, investment management and retirement planning for clients to help them achieve their short- and long-term goals.

He enjoys golf, cooking and spending time with his wife and family. He is a board member for the Estate Planning Council of the Emerald Coast.

  • David Glinka, Key Advisor

Dave spent 22 years as an explosives expert for the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 2004. He continued to teach how to defuse military weapons and munitions as a contractor and has held roles in Instructional Systems Design for DARPA, Northrup Grumman, and Technical Services Working Group among others. During his time in Bagram Afghanistan, Dave developed expertise in Weapons Technical Intelligence and Counter-IED measures. He is a veteran of the Gulf War serving with the F-117 Stealth Fighter in Saudi Arabia. His passion for working to solve homelessness informed his role as Director of CALM House and as Program Director at Freedom Life Compass' Freedom House. He enjoys hiking, paddle boarding and playing Wingspan board game with his wife.
